Plan B

Hello there ladies and lads and all them other things..

As I've been recently informed, Plan B is supporting the Stone Roses on the sunday of their reuniting tour, and with a special request from my good cousin, heres enough 'Plan-fo' to keep you satisfied for weeks.

Right, Plan B (who is also known as Benjamin Paul Ballance-Drew) is an East London, Cockney born rapper; Singer-songwriter, actor, and film director. Plan B has an interesting genre range, which includes; Hip Hop, Soul, Drum & Bass, Indie Rock, Grime, and Country.

Plan B's music is written in acordance to his life, like about his childhood, how his dad left and disappeared when Drew was 6, etc. The reason he is known by the name Plan B is as he says, "The whole reason for calling myself Plan B was that I was doing this sweet-boy Justin Timberlake shit, but I never felt comfortable... When I started rapping, it was easier for me to feel comfortable"... Fair enough.

His first album was of a darker vibe, 'Who Needs Actions When You've Got Words', which had popular rapping/grime tracks such as 'Missing Links' and 'Mama'. Around all of the album releasing, Plan B kept releasing different mix tapes, and being involved in songs with such artists as Chase And Status.
His second album, 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks', which was one of a different type of music to what he has been seen for. This album has been very successful with hits like 'She Said' and 'Stay Too Long'. This fame allowed him to win the Brit Awards Best British Male 2011, and allowed him to perform with Elton John, if thats an achievement?

After deciding to go back to his roots of rap/hiphop/grime, he has released his new single 'Ill Manors', ahead of his new album 'The Ballad Of Belmarsh', which goes through the “series of events” that depicts the story of Plan B’s alter-ego.

With all the music career, Plan B has seen himself acting in decent-hit movies such as 'Harry Brown', where his track with Chase and Status was the soundtrack. He has also began production on a full feature film, director by himself called 'Ill Manors'.

So theres a few bits and bobs for all you who didn't know much or if anything (Lee) about the big man that is Plan B. I'm sure he will be brilliant live supporting the Stone Roses, as he will brign something different!

Enjoy!
